Prayer Pledge
Consider making a commitment to prayer using this
pledge. You may select a few of the items listed or
commit to all of them if you desire.
- I hereby pledge to
ask God daily to make me a man/woman of prayer.
"But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and
in His law he meditates day and night. And he will be
like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, which
yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not
witherand in whatever he does, he prospers." (Psalm
1:2,3)
- I'll arrange my schedule
so I can spend time in prayer.
"I rise before dawn and cry for help; I wait for
Thy words. My eyes anticipate the night watches, that
I may meditate on Thy word." (Psalm 119:147,148)
- I'll evaluate my spare
time (since I have so much) and trust God to show
me how much of it I can invest in prayer.
"Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise
men, but as wise, making the most of your time, because
the days are evil." (Ephesians 5:15,16)
- I'll ask God to give
me a partner who I can pray with on a regular basis.
"I say to you, that if two or three agree on earth
about anything that they may ask, it shall he done for
them by My Father who is in heaven. For where two or
three have gathered together in My name, there I am
in their midst."(Matthew 18:19,20)
- I'll begin taking
the initiative to pray with others as a way of life.
"With all prayer and petition pray at all times
in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert
with all perseverance and petition for all the saints."
(Ephesians 6:18)
- I'll learn to pray
using scriptures as a guide for intercession.
"Establish my footsteps in Thy Word, and do not
let any iniquity have dominion over me." (Psalm
119:133)
- I'll take advantage
of special prayer opportunities such as prayer chains,
prayer workshops, bad hair days and group prayer meetings
as time allows and the Holy Spirit directs.
"And it came about that while He was praying in
a certain place, after He had finished, one of His disciples
said to Him, 'Lord, teach us to pray just as John also
taught his disciples.'" (Luke 11:1)
- I'll regularly communicate
to others what God is teaching me in prayer.
"Oh give thanks to the Lord, call upon His name;
make known His deeds among the peoples. Sing to Him,
sing praises to Him, speak of all His wonders."
(Psalm 105:1,2)
- I'll pray for spiritual
awakening and revival in my life, my family, my church,
my community, and the world.
"If...My people who are called by My name humble
themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their
wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive
their sin, and will heal their land." (2 Chronicles
7:14)
