Perspective on The Da Vinci Code Tools

A great way to prime your students about the Da Vinci Code book and upcoming movie is to show the 8 minute Josh McDowell interview. Show it at you next meeting. Be sure to either use your laptop connected to the internet or video projector which many classrooms already have to show the interview. Take a sneak peak at it yourself. Josh explains why it is important to be ready!

How to Use the Mini-Magazine:

The right perspective behind using the mini-magazine is to pass them out to people that you personally know or those that you have engaged in a spiritual conversation with as a result of the book or movie. We want to be careful not to just pass out the magazine at random. They can be easily misunderstood.

Here’s a sample script:

“Have you had a chance to read the book called the “Da Vinci Code”? Have you heard about it? The movie is coming out in mid-May. Let me show you these four pages in this mini-magazine which are an interview with Josh McDowell (turn to the four pages towards the back of the mini-magazine which covers the interview). Read these through and let’s talk about them the next we meet.” Or you can say, “Read this interview first. I think it will enlighten you as to the fact vs. fiction of the Da Vinci Code.” “Can I cover with you the last two pages of the mini-magazine?” (Go over the gospel message with them in these pages is it is appropriate).

How to Use the Book:

The book is a fast read and will take the person you’re trying to witness to into more detail about all the fiction found in the Da Vinci code book and movie. Say, “Here’s a book I’d like for you to read. It’s a super fast read and will really help you understand the important issues surrounding the Da Vinci Code. Can we get together again to talk about it?”
