October Roadmap

You’re now into the month of October and we want to encourage you to plan carefully for the weeks ahead. Below is the “Roadmap for October”:

October 2-6

• Plan you big monthly evangelistic event for the month. Consider something on witchcraft or Halloween and how to communicate the gospel. Here are a couple of helpful links for perspective: Once a Month Strategy and Halloween Resources
  
• Take a prayer walk around your campus and ask God to reach the lost and touch people’s lives. Pray for those in your ministry by name as well.
  
• Continue with the follow-up of new people from your surveys or activities the first weeks of classes. Re-connect with those who have not come back to your meetings and re-invite them.
  
• If you have not yet done so, be sure everyone has been training in how to share the gospel with others.

October 9-13

• Begin thinking about recruiting for the Christmas in your region. Visit the Christmas Conference page on GodSquad for links to conference websites. Also, visit the Christmas Conference recruiting page for ideas on how to recruit others to come.
  
• Continue with your plan for your big monthly evangelistic outreach for the month.
  
• Begin to formulate plans for recruiting to the Christmas conference.
  
• Plan a social (party) for everyone for connection and fellowship.

October 16-20

• If anyone on your leadership team is graduating or transferring after this December, be thinking about who might replace them.
  
• Continue recruiting for the Christmas conference. It’s not too early to help people begin thinking about it. Be sure to go yourself so you can take others with you. If you do not have brochures by now, call your staff coach.
  
• Finalize plans for big evangelistic event for the month.
  
• Take a fresh look at how you’re Bible studies are going. Do you need to change course and cover new material?

October 23-27

• Conduct big evangelistic event this week or before. Halloween can make a good evangelistic outreach.
  
• Begin plans for big November evangelistic event. Be mindful that Thanksgiving will shorten your month by a week.
  
• Each week, mention the Christmas conference and keep before everyone, even if it’s just for a moment.
  
• Begin the follow-up immediately from your October evangelistic outreach. Connect with people 24-48 hours after the outreach for maximum effectiveness. Be sure at your evangelistic meeting to use comment cards to find people’s interest along with their key information so you can contact them.
