weekly ministry tips
Much has happened so far in your ministry this semester. You've been faithfully having weekly meetings and Bible studies. You've had some good evangelistic events on campus already and in fact you're planning to emphasize the gospel during the Halloween season and take advantage of the topics available (see October 10th weekly tip).
Your Special Time Each Day
Now would be a good time to pause and make sure that your walk with the Lord is where you want it to be. Here are a few ideas to consider:
- Pick a book of the Bible that you want to read through.
- Read for 5 minutes just a few verses, a paragraph or at the most a chapter
- Ask the Lord "What do you want to show me through this passage?” “Is there anything that I should memorize or meditate on?” “Anything I need to apply?”
- Now take an additional 5 minutes and pray for your day, people you're discipling on campus, people you'd like to see come to the Lord, family members, friends and your studies, classes and plans for your day.
This is very simple but powerful because everyday you're allowing the Lord to infiltrate your mind and heart so that you might live a life that pleases Him. Shoot for 5 days a week to start with and give the Lord 5-10 minutes sometime in your day so that you might focus on Him. Often it is through these simple devotional times with the Lord that you'll receive encouragement and energy to reach your campus with the gospel message.
Don’t let your spiritual life run dry. Make that time with the Lord a top priority in your day.
Talk to you next week,
The GodSquad Team
